Planta Toronto is an all plant based restaurant located in the heart of Yorkville. Under Chef David Lee, it came with a purpose of celebrating innovative cuisine in a beautiful environment without the use of any animal products. Their super tropical decor will make you just want to snap photos in every corner of the restaurant.
You should know this is really not one of those vegan restaurants that you need to go with "an open mind", everything I ate was so full of flavour and tasted really good. If you're a cheese lover, you should start with the truffle fries, which are fries with truffle almond parmesan and lemon garlic aïoli. Also, if you've never tried almond parmesan YOU HAVE TO! You'll probably never want to get back to real parmesan again... just saying. The Cauliflower Tots were so good too.
Planta does cocktails with cold-pressed juice bases and the Watermelon Sangria is a must try if you like to enjoy a cocktail. The Rosé Marguerita is also an amazing option. We ordered The French pizza, which has mushrooms, squash, cashew mozzarella, arugula and lemon truffle oil. The flavours really complement each other.
They have recently added to their menu a sellection of treats to-go that involve this huge Chocolate Chip Cookie and an Iconic Chocolate Truffle Box that comes with six little pieces of heaven for you to take home and share with your family or simply eat them while you're binge watching some Netflix.
