Whether you're sailing at the coast of Italy or on a boat at the lake of your city, it's always important to be prepared and make sure you don't forget to bring anything, because once the boat departs, you can't really ask to come back because you "forgot to bring water" (LOL true story). Making a list of the items you'll need is the best way to go and since last weekend we had a little boat getaway, I decided to make this post with the items we brought.
1. WATER.
Believe it or not, it's really easy to forget something so simple. The old story of "I'll bring the food and you bring the drinks" can led to a whole lot of beers and Rose and not enough of water. Water is essential specially if you're staying all day under the sun. Stay hydrated.
2. SNACKS & DRINKS
If you're planning on a long day drinking, swimming and having fun, it's important to bring snacks too. A nice tray of fresh cut fruits and veggies with hummus is a great idea. A cold pasta salad is good too. Make sure to keep everything refrigerated and far away from the sun.
Is boating really boating without "Rosé all Day"?
3. COOLER & ICE
Just make sure to check if the boat has a refrigerator, on this case you don't need it. What you don't want is to drink warm beer, that's a huge NO NO!
4. SUNSCREEN
No explanation needed, right?
5. CELPHONE & CAMERA
For the cellphone, make sure you also pack a charger. Camera to insure you have flawless photos.
6. SUNGLASSES & HATS
Attention please. If you're one of those people that drink too much and forget to take your hat and sunnies off before diving on the water, DON'T GO BOATING! haha Or at least try to be more careful, nobody wants to lose $1000 dollars Chanel glasses in the water.
7. FLOATIES
Specially if you want that "Summer in Croatia" vibe. This Metalic gold one from REVOLVE will do just the trick.
8. TOWELS
Make sure you bring two of those, one to dry off after getting into the water and another one to take pictures pretending your hair is wet. Joking, the extra one is to wipe up the orange juice.
9. MUSIC
This might be one of the most important items LOL. Make sure you ask in advance if the boat has a sound system that you can play from your phone, if not, you can always bring a portable speaker.
10. EXTRA CLOTHES
Maybe you spilled that orange juice on your denim shorts, maybe you got your clothes wet by being thrown at the water by your bestie, or maybe you just want to have a different outfit for the sunset photos. Either way, just bring extras, you'll thank me later.
Anyways have fun!
