Last night I went to check out the YSL Beauty Hotel event hosted at the Toronto Hotel. The whole concept of the event was to make you feel like you're at a hotel, starting with a reception, a bar, a lounge area, then upstairs with the bedroom. It was the ultimate pop-up shop, where the latest YSL lipsticks as well as all your favourite cult classics were be available to try! They had Makeup Artists everywhere ready to give you tips on finding the perfect lipstick color and the best foundation shade.

While the Dj was playing some cool hits, you could try to win some gifts , take cool photos at their several cool backgrounds, shop their latest launches, get makeup tips from make experts and even attend to a Makeup Masterclass.

But I have to say the best thing was the smell of their new perfume BLACK OPIUM in the air... amazing!

Welcome to the YSL BEAUTY HOTEL TORONTO, where you can check in at any time you like but you may not want to ever leave!

This week is Toronto Fashion Week and I got to go with my friends to the first day and here is a recap of what happened:

Mani Jassal

Mani Jassal presented a beautiful "Free Spirit" inspired show featuring poetry as an opening film. The collection brought us all those bohemian 70's flower power looks with saris and long dresses.

Mani Jassal's beauty was marked by glossy lips and little baby breath flowers on the models long beautiful hair.

Narces

Narces' Designer and Creative Director Nikki Wirthensohn Yassemi, definitely brings her international background to the runway. Her pieces are inspired by the romantic glamour and elegance of mid-20th century, and her flirty approach to evening dresses is something so beautiful you want to rush to the runway and steal a piece. This collection was marked by a lot of florals, transparency and glamour.

Narces show was not only highly anticipated for its beautiful evening gowns, but also for its beauty. Wet slicked back hair and earth tone makeup marked the runway and those beautiful headpieces were simply, for lack of better words, breathtaking!

Christopher Bates

Bates show started with a very inspirational message from the designer about his struggles to make it in the fashion industry. Looking at him now, with Italian-made menswear and with his new collection about to start being sold at Nordstrom, seems like all that struggle has paid off.

His contemporary casual outlook on menswear stunned the audience with yellow stripe shirts and pantsuits, sober dark blazers and, my two favourites, a hot pink and a coral sweatshirt.

Neigum

After Bates' show, we were directed to an elevator, one of those industrial elevators you only really see in New York movies, that took us to a parking garage. We were all still rushing to our seats when the show started. And it was spectacular! Sid Neigum is known for his sober/darker tones, specially black, and also for his signature architectural geometric sheer gowns, which were really well showcased last night, but in softer pastel colours. Absolutely stunning!

The beauty on Neigum's show was as simple as it can be. Perfect skin, thick bushy eyebrows, hair pulled straight back. No distractions showcase his beautiful gowns.

It's no secret that the hottest things right now are surprise boxes. Firstly because it's super convenient to not even have to leave the house to shop, but what if you didn't even had to worry about choosing an outfit at all and receiving 3 (or 6, or even 9) different looks that you can wear for a month however many times you want, and then returning them and receiving new ones? Wait what? YES! Every month you get new outfits to wear around and not worry about repeating looks. One word: AMAZING. Actually the right word is: WANT.

Canada's new surprise box company is called A Pois and this is how it works:

Step 1. Rent Fill out a style survey, then select your size and quantity preference. Their in-house stylists will curate your monthly subscription with the latest trends.

Step 2. Love Receive 3, 6 or 9 hand-selected pieces of clothing delivered to your door. Wear everything for the month, as many times as you’d like.

Step 3. Reuse Return your items in the pre-paid return bag, and they will take care of the rest. You don't even have to worry about washing the clothes afterwards.

Look 1:

This super chic nude romper is the perfect outfit for a more social event or even a brunch with your in laws. you can complete it with some gold jewellery and nice cute flats, but I decided to try and all nude look with this chocker I bought some years ago at Nordstrom and my heels from Guess. The straw hat added an extra glamorous vibe to the look.

Look 2:

This casual romper was super fun to use and I styled it with my red bag (used as a fanny pack) and Zara flats.

Look 3:

This jumpsuit had literally everyone asking me where I got it from. I wore it for a dinner with my girlfriends but I felt so sexy that I'll definitely have to wear it again for a diner date with my hubby. I decided to style it with these Zara Hot Pink heels and of course red lips.

Here are other ways of styling the same outfits:
